George has over 30 years experience in Water Resources and industrial projects. Some of his previous experience include:
MPE Engineering Ltd.
Project management and design of new infrastructure and infrastructure rehabilitation for municipal clients. Projects include construction of water, sanitary and storm mains; wastewater lagoon design and construction, drainage improvements, site grading, storage ponds, and feasibility studies.
Eastern Irrigation District
Headed the engineering department. Was responsible for implementation of a $20,000,000/year rehabilitation program for irrigation infrastructure, consisting of new and reconstructed canals and PVC pipelines, as well as concrete control structures, drainage channels, small earth dam construction, lift pump stations, and canal automation.
George lived in Red Deer AB for 7 years before moving to Kelowna in 2013. Prior to that George has been in Alberta since 1990 after graduating in Mining and Metallurgy from the University of Toronto and working 8 years at a metal refinery in Timmins, Ontario.
In 1998, George decided that he had enough of the mining business and metallurgy and got a Masters degree in Water Resources at U of A and became a civil engineer.
George met his wife Donna during his time in Edmonton and they have been happily married for 16 years.
For leisure George’s time is mostly outdoors and includes training/competing endurance races such as running and triathlon.
