<h3>Biography</h3>
<p>Barbara's background is in teaching, with a specialization in Early Childhood Education.</p><p>After completing her English degree at the University of Calgary, Barbara moved to South Korea where she taught English for two years. </p><p>Upon her return to Calgary, she decided to get her Education degree to further her career as a teacher. For 15-years she taught Kindergarten and other elementary grades.</p><p>As Thermal Creek grew and became more and more in need of HR and administrative professional assistance, Barbara decided to make the switch and join the team.</p><p>In her spare time, Barbara enjoys writing, traveling and spending time with her family. In 2026 she published her first book: <strong>Born from the Heart</strong>.</p>

<h3>Biography</h3>
<p>Darren Randall relocated to Alberta in 1999 from Manitoba and found himself working in the oil sands. After completing post secondary education, Darren pursued a career in financial management. After more than a decade in a finance role, he found his way back to the oil and gas industry, based in Calgary. From there he gained a tremendous amount of experience and knowledge in the field of shallow drilling and exploration. As the energy industry evolves, the natural progression of Darren’s journey lead him into renewable energy. After years of providing drilling to geo-exchange projects, it was a perfect fit to join the Thermal Creek team.</p>

<p>Koen has a background in mechanical engineering. Since co-founding Thermal Creek in 2006 he has been responsible for designing and implementing hundreds of geothermal HVAC solutions in Alberta and BC.<br />Koen is a licensed engineering professional with APEGA and has received his certification as an accredited geothermal designer and installer from the Canadian Geo-exchange Coalition (CGC) as well as the International Groundsource Heat Pump Association (IGSHPA).<br />Koen has an MBA from Oxford University, United Kingdom and an MSc Mechanical Engineering from Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands.</p>
