A sustainable and better alternative

For some people the decision about how to heat & cool your new house or building is not the most sexy or exciting part of the construction process. However, everyone will agree that a good heating system is crucial and that it is a major factor determining comfort and ongoing operational costs..

Most people will also agree that conserving our natural resources is an important mandate we all share in today's society. Where possible, we should aim to reduce our footprint on the planet.

Geothermal technology offers a sustainable and better alternative compared to the conventional burning of fossil fuels. It can eliminate your natural gas, oil or propane usage, create tangible energy savings every month, and provide superior comfort and safety.

Sometimes other upgrades to your house or building may seem more exciting. But remember that an investment in geothermal creates lasting value for you and the world we live in.

Efficient, Renewable, Comfortable, Safe

Combustion creates Waste

On average, 81% of building energy usage goes towards heating & hot water. Most times, this is done through combustion processes.

A Natural Gas furnace creates CO2 emissions by burning natural gas and emitting combustion exhausts into our atmosphere. In addition, the exploration process for natural gas creates tons of CO2 emissions - so called "offsite" emissions. Even today's high efficiency furnaces still only run at about 90% efficient. In other words, for every $1.00 of gas you purchase from the gas companies, you throw $0.10 away. That adds up over time... Click on the Geothermal Energy Usage tab to see how much energy you can save.

Use up to 5 times LESS energy for heating, hot water and cooling.

By using Renewable energy stored in the Earth, you can reduce overall building energy usage by more than 60%.

Our geothermal systems run at 400% or higher efficiencies. Instead of losing 10% of energy, you get 3 units of energy free from the ground for every 1 unit of energy you put into the geothermal system. In ofther words, for 1 KWh (KiloWatthour) of electricity put into the geothermal system, you get 3 KWhs free from the ground and combined give you 4 KWhs available for heating and hot water. For cooling the geothermal also uses only a fraction of the amount of energy compared to regular A/C units. Geothermal systems capture the heat energy from the house and deposit the heat into the Earth, which in the summer time is much cooler than the outdoor air temperature. Added benefit: no more noisy outdoor A/C units since everything is either underground or inside the mechanical room.

Unmatched indoor comfort

Better air quality, even air temperature, and less allergens.

Our geothermal forced air systems circulate twice the amount of air compared to a regular furnace. This reduces hot & cold pockets in the house, and creates a more comfortable environment. Since we are not burning anything, we leave more humidity in the air and need less outdoor air intake. Indoor air quality in the home plays a major role in your respiratory health, particularly if you suffer from asthma or allergies. The optimal heating system for someone with allergies or asthma would limit exposure to the by-products of burning wood or fossil fuels. Geothermal heating systems are highly recommended by the American Lung Association for people suffering from asthma or allergies.

No Risk of Carbon Monoxide Poisoning

No combustion, no flame, with geothermal you can eliminate this 'Silent Killer'.

Carbon monoxide (sometimes referred to as CO) is a colorless, odorless gas produced by burning material containing carbon (such as natural gas). Carbon monoxide poisoning can cause brain damage and death. You can't see it, smell it, or taste it; but carbon monoxide can kill you. Carbon monoxide is the leading cause of accidental poisoning deaths in America, and an estiamted 60 Canadians die every year from what is commonly referred to as the 'Silent Killer'. A geothermal heating system has no combustion and as such produces no Carbon Monoxide. With geothermal you can eliminate the risk of Carbon Monoxide Poisoning.
